Following a successful application to the Lottery Heritage Fund to support a project which would record the dialects of Port Talbot and the Neath and Afan valleys, a Heritage Officer was appointed in December 2007. Since then the Heritage Officer has worked very closely with the Saint Ffagans Archive Department to identify examples of interviews that were recorded between 1965 – 1990 of the dialects of Port Talbot and the Neath and Afan valleys.
In addition to this, the Heritage Officer has interviewed and recorded a large number of people who have lived in the area all their lives.
All the interviews recorded were shared with the Archivist at Saint Ffagans.
Here are some of the local residents who agreed to be interviewd to date. |
